A week-long celebration of the Chinese culture through the Spring Film Festival has come to an end with the final line-up of films, a Chinese painting workshop, and a festive dragon dance.
Spring film festival which happened last January 25-29, 2017, presented six award-winning films that discusses Chinese cultures and tradition and timely issues. The line-up includes Wolf Totem, Red Amnesia, Everybody’s Fine, Horseplay, A Complicated Story, And Book of Love. alongside film viewing the event also highlights the role of arts in the lives of Chinese by organizing a Chinese painting exhibit, Chinese music concert, and Chinese pastel painting workshop. And the best thing about it is that everything is for free. A lot of Chinese people graces the event to celebrate the Chinese New Year and to support and promote Chinese culture as well. Even non-Chinese community are present to concelebrate Chinese arts and culture, a blithesome and cheerful dragon dance which rounds to the whole Shangri-La plaza concluded the whole festival.
The said event was organized by the Ateneo de Manila University’s Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, together with the Shangri-La Plaza and Ateneo Celadon.
